First ever joint public sector jobs fair to be held at Gateshead Stadium
Job seekers looking for a career where they can make a real difference to the local community are being invited to the borough’s first ever joint public sector jobs fair at Gateshead Stadium on Wednesday, 8 March.
In this partnership event, Gateshead Council, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust and Gateshead College have come together to showcase the jobs and career opportunities available across the three organisations.
Anyone who wants to get back into work after a break, is looking for their first ever job after education or who wants to pursue a more rewarding career is invited to consider a role in the local public sector.
The free event provides an opportunity to discover the range of roles on offer and talk to professionals from across public sector services, including Social Care, Health, Nursing, Business Administration, Customer Services, Education, Construction, Facilities Management, Legal Services, Housing, Finance, Human Resources, IT and more.
The Council, NHS Trust and College will also provide information about the benefits of working within a public sector organisation, such as a competitive pension scheme, generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working hours, a range of employee benefits and discount schemes, access to wellbeing initiatives and career development.
Councillor Malcolm Brain, Cabinet Member for Economy at Gateshead Council, said: "It’s never been a more exciting time to join a public sector organisation in Gateshead.
"With more demand for roles that allow for flexible working than ever, a career to support your local community while enjoying the perks of public sector careers could be for you.
"We will have colleagues on hand to provide advice and information about current job opportunities, and you could even have an interview on the day. You will also be able to register for job alerts and develop your CV, as well as find information on alternative routes into public sector roles, such as courses, apprenticeships and placements.
"The event is open to anyone interested in being a part of our great organisations, who really care about the people who work for them."
Attendance to the event on Wednesday 8 March at Gateshead Stadium from 4pm until 8pm is free for anyone interested.
Pre-registration is not required, but free tickets are available online on EventBrite
